Sambal tomat

1 medium tomato, chopped
3 shallots
2 long red chilis (cut lengthwise and remove seeds)
7 small red chilis
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp gula jawa [palm sugar] (optional)
  1. Stir-fry tomato, chilis, and shallots in a little oil.
  2. Crush them together in a lemper with the salt and optional sugar.
For Sambal terasi, add ¼ tsp terasi when you stir-fry the chilis.
